Quick Start
Get started with Transurf's core features in 5 minutes and begin your intelligent translation journey.
Install the Extension
Welcome to Transurf! Let's start by installing the browser extension.
Chrome Web Store Installation Recommended
- Visit Chrome Web Store
- Click the "Add to Chrome" button
- In the popup window, click "Add Extension"
- Once installed, the Transurf icon will appear in the browser toolbar
Manual Installation
If you cannot access the Chrome Web Store or need to install other browser versions: đ View Manual Installation Guide
After the first installation, an initialization wizard will automatically pop up to guide you through the setup and quick start.
Initial Setup
When using Transurf for the first time, let's perform basic configurations.
Set Target Translation Language
- Click the Transurf icon in the browser toolbar
- Select "Settings"
- Choose your most frequently used target translation language under "Target Language"
Choose Translation Service
Recommended for new users: Google Translate:
- Find the "Translation Service" option on the settings page
- Select "Google Translate" (free and stable)
- Save the settings
Upgrade to AI Translation Services:
If you need higher-quality translations, you can configure AI services: đ Configure AI Translation Services
Experience Translation Features
Now let's experience Transurf's core translation features.
The most commonly used translation method:
- Select Text: Highlight a piece of text on any webpage
- Trigger Translation: After selection, the translation button will appear. Click to translate
- View Results: Translation results are displayed in a popup
Ideal for reading entire articles:
- Start Translation: Use the shortcut
Alt+Q/Cmd+Q(customizable) - Bilingual Display: After pressing the shortcut, a loading animation appears, followed by a bilingual display of the translation results
Independent translation window without interfering with browsing:
- Open Popup: Click the extension icon â "Open Translation Window"
- Free Translation: Enter any text, select a language, and view the results
Currently supports Chinese-English word lookup. Future updates will include AI-powered lookup to support more languages:
- Select Text: Highlight a word on any webpage
- Trigger Lookup: After selection, the lookup button will appear. Click to look up
- View Results: Lookup results are displayed in a popup
